Let’s look at how to insert the popular Like Box code onto your website.

1.Setting up the Like Box widget

First things first, let’s get the basic Like Box widget set up. Log into your Facebook account and click the ‘Edit page’ link on the left side of your page’s profile. Over on the right you’ll see the link ‘Promote with a Like Box‘.

The first thing you’ll need is the ID of your Facebook page. You can find this by checking the URL of most of the links on your page profile.

Enter the size and configure the options of your page, like adding the stream or showing the header, then hit the ‘Get Code’ button.

Now select all the code by highlighting it (CTRL Insert, CTRL C (pc) ) and copy it to your clip board.

If you’re looking for a quick solution the iFrame code quickly and easily inserts a box onto your webpage, but don’t expect to be able to customize it too much. If you have an hour or two to spare, copy the XFBML code.

2. WordPress Part

Log into the wordpress admin area – (www.your-url.whatever/wp-admin)

From your dashboard , select appearance and then select  “Widgets”

Now create a new text widget. Simply drag and drop a text widget to one of your sidebars and place it where you want it to appear.
Paste (SHIFT Insert, CTRL V(pc)) the code into the Text Widget and Save.

Now Go And See What It Looks Like!

That’s it all done, wasn’t too painful was it?  All you have to do now is go to your site and see what it looks like

Advantage Of having A Facebook Fan Box

The main advantage of having a Facebook fan box is that your visitors can become Fans immediatly as long as they are already signed into Facebook. Before this it was a two step process where you had to take people to your Fan page and then convice them to click on the “become a fan” button
The advantages of having your community connected with each other are immense. The more networked your Fans are the more effect any fan interactions will have on facebooks newsfeed. More people will see if their friends are commenting or liking the content that you publish in your stream.
